sig, it can be justified that the top line is limited in overturn in sales, whereas the bottom line, which consists of 90% of the world's businesses (medium to small business, 1000 employees or less). turnover occurs every 18 months now. smaller businesses tend to spend more percentage dollars per employee than larger firms. breaking into markets like Brazil, Argentina, both of which are witnessing economic revivals.

i'm aware of the total dollars spent by each category, but, it can be justified that Dell selling into the "70% world reveneue generation which serves 90% of the business population" is no less lucrative than selling into the "30% revenue generation representing 10% of the world's business population."

in fact, dollars spent per individual (percentage wise) is greater in the 70% than it is in the 30%. The 30% tends to represent economies of scale, yet, Dell's manufacturing model helps level the playing field relative to any economies of scale represented by the 30%.
