Reports August 2000 Comparable Store Sales Increased 8 Percent NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 2000--Cache, Inc., (NASDAQ: CACH), a specialty chain of exclusive women's apparel stores with 210 stores open (186 Cache stores and 24 Lillie Rubin stores) and on line at the Company's web site at www.cache.com , reported August 2000 sales figures. Comparable store sales (sales for stores open at least one year or more) increased 8% during the four week August 2000 period, as compared to the same period in 1999. Total sales for the four week period ended August 26, 2000 increased $1.3 million or 14% to $11 million, for the four week period. Total sales for the thirty-four week period ended August 26, 2000 were $106.6 million, as compared to $96.2 for the comparable period ended August 28, 1999, which represents an increase of $10.4 million or 11%.
