hey tc re "Let me know how it goes" in reference to PCHelp's Network Tracer... i installed the trace program yesterday, then had some minor probs getting the path right. got that squared away (i'd put shortcuts into the windows\command folder instead of the actual files) and began running traces on this one particularly persistent intruder-wannbee. i still have to devote more time to the intricacies, but i have begun forwarding bat files and log info to authorities. ordinarily i wouldn't worry about 'going after' a detection, but this individual has perpetrated 39+ attacks in two weeks. time to take some action. anyway, i encourage you to try the programs, and maybe we can help one another and share what we learn. :) mark
