Parthus is an Intellectual Property company whose assets are our people, patent portfolio, design methods and experience. Over the past nine years, we have developed one of the world's largest independent IP development organizations with an unrivalled expertise in DSP, Analog, mixed-signal and RF technologies and vertical market expertise such as GPS, wireless communications and audio. Our GPS team alone have produced seven generations of GPS technology. Since incorporation, we developed a portfolio of over 200 IP building blocks - proven technologies enabling us to speed products to market.
Digital Devices = Powered by Parthus DSP Cores
The brain of every digital mobile phone is DSP (Digital Signal Processing) - a key enabling technology for modern communication appliances designed with 'real time' communications (voice, music, games, multimedia) in mind. DSPs fundamentally enable higher speed, higher quality and lower costs mobile appliances.
DSP is a core expertise of Parthus, spanning four main categories; DSP cores, Peripherals, DSP Algorithms and system software. In the area of DSP cores, Parthus has developed proprietary 16-bit and 24-bit programmable DSP core architectures over successive generations up to 120 MIPS performance. Both families of DSP have a related library of peripherals, such as interfaces with memory, general input/output devices such as AT, SCSI, I2C and audio-specific input/output devices such as I2S and S/PDIF. To turn voice, video or music into digital code requires mixed signal expertise, combing analog with digital. Our portfolio of analog intellectual property covers a broad spectrum of signal processing solutions ranging from precision analog, to mixed-signal, to RF. Demanding at both the architectural and block implementation level, successful implementation rely on mixed signal expertise and IP - core skills of the dedicated mixed-signal Parthus teams.
Mobile-Internet Devices = Silicon+Software
Next generation Mobile-Internet devices rely upon sophisticated software adding functionality, cost and time-to-market advantages as well as programmability. Our programmable DSP architectures enable rapid deployment in multiple scenarios - e.g. our PDA Platform can support either Symbian or Windows CE. Dedicated software teams within Parthus develop application software and test suites.
