Just my 2 cents:
I started with AOL-Busy signals all the time.
Moved to MSN-Liked it ok but very slow. Probably server problems.
Moved to a local ISP-Always could get on but only at about 26K.

About 2 weeks ago was able to get on Sprint fixed Wireless. I love it. Installed in about 3h. Internet always on. Down-Link at about 1Mbps. Up-Link at 250 K. Things really pop up. $40/mo. No phone line needed. Did not cut out during a rain storm, although my Direct TV did.

It has been available here in Tucson, AZ for about 2 mo.
The installers said they had put in about 2000 installations.

It has not been advertised as they have all they can do just with word of mouth.

I also do not use a portal. I set up shortcuts on my screen such as S.I. and if I need a portal I usually use Yahoo or Go2Net.

I cannot get DSL or Cable Internet service here but am happy with Fixed Wireless. Sprint is ready to offer it in Detroit.
Cheers,
Everett
