Since the point of this thread is Biotech Valuation, let's take a poll:

How many people think the discovery of ACE2 is worth a billion in market cap to Millenium? Keeping in mind that:

a) they don't own it outright (collaboration with Lilly)
b) it's not a validated target for therapeutic intervention (yet -- though odds are it's going to be)
c) known ACE inhibitors do not inhibit the enzyme, so designing a good inhibitor may (or may not) be difficult

If MLNM had said: "we found ACE2, here's what it does, and we have some advanced lead molecules", I might expect a nice pop. But an additional BILLION in market cap? That's 2-3 reasonable sized biotechs with their own proprietary targets.

(um, my vote is: not worth that kind of pop)
