nazticker: I wouldn't consider one indicator for a stock in place of the TRIN for indices, but several from which to catch negative divergences among other signals.

When negative divergences are not accompanied by the predicted price movement right away, that is a signal that the divergence is indicating that a likelihood of further strength will occur.

There are some technicalities of bearish divergences and how to evaluate them and to know the likely differences, that I will be teaching in TA Training. Too involved for here...
