Wind, Albacom to bid for Infostrada -Italian press MILAN, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Italian telecom groups Wind and Albacom will on Friday present binding offers to acquire fixed-line operator Infostrada , Italian business daily Il Sole 24 Ore reported. The paper noted that a deadline is set to expire for bid offers for the entire capital of Italy's second largest fixed-line operator. In July, Infostrada shareholders approved a plan to list up to 49.9 percent of the company's capital on the Milan bourse but Il Sole said there had already been contacts for its sale. Il Sole said that a London-based investment bank had already been mandated to oversee the operation and said the frontrunners for the purchase included not only Wind and Albacom but also Deutsche Telekom . Wind is owned by power group Enel and France Telecom while Albacom's partners comprise Italy's BNL bank , energy giant Eni , broadcaster Mediaset and British Telecom (LSE: BT.A.L - news) . In a separate report, Milan daily Il Giornale said that according to rumours circulating in financial circles, British Telecom on its own was ready to make Vodaphone (LSE: VOD.L - news) an offer of between 25 and 30 trillion lire for Infostrada as an alternative to the planned bourse flotation.
