DRC high-grade copper intersected at Afton

DRC Resources Corporation DRC

Thu 31 Aug 2000 News Release
Mr. John Kruzick reports
The company has completed 10 diamond drill holes on the Afton Mineral zone
with all drill holes intersecting significant mineralization, ranging from
disseminated to semi-massive. DDH 2K-6 to DDH 2K-8 drilled in the same
vertical plane at 270 degrees indicates the mineral zone has an apparent
width of up to 450 feet with higher grade sections within the zone, 2K-8,
10 feet -- 27.45 per cent Cu equivalent. These drill holes extend the
mineral zone approximately 120 feet southwest along trend and down dip from
DDH 2K-4. Current drill results indicate the grade of mineralization is two
to three times the grade previously mined by open pit. Indications are the
higher grade mineralization purported to be mined at pit bottom may be
continuous with the intersections in DDH 2K-8 (shallowest hole) through to
DDH 2K-6 (refer to drill section).
Higher grade intersections are as follows:
DDH 2K-6 at -77 degrees/272 degrees, core length 150 feet -- 4.07 per cent
Cu equivalent;
DDH 2K-7 at -86 degrees/270 degrees, core length 180 feet -- 3.98 per cent
Cu equivalent; and
DDH 2K-8 at -56 degrees/270 degrees, core length 120 feet -- 4.38 per cent
Cu equivalent; (incl. 10 feet -- 27.45 per cent Cu equivalent GMV: $440
(U.S.)/T).
