The ConvergeNet products are too late to be relevant, U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray analyst Ashok Kumar said in a recent report.
The big mistake Dell made was not buying Data General and letting EMC take it away. I just don't think the idea of buying another company sit well with them, especially after Compaq's mess with DEC. Still, losing the resell of Clarion's really set Dell back and they ended up having to buy a company anyway, only it was a company without an interim solution while new products were being developed.
