RE: TIVO Subscription Fee

Yes, there is a subscription fee.

$9.95 per month, or
$100 per year, or
$199 for lifetime of unit

[Prior to January 2000, due to confusion about what this meant, this last option applied both to the unit and its upgrade/replacement. It no longer does.]

I have also been told that Tivo is no longer offering upgrade from 14 hr. to 30 hr. disk.

There is a thirty day money back guarantee both on the unit and the service plan. Also the $9.95 will be deducted if one decides during the first month to extend the subscription.

If I like the unit, I will probably upgrade to lifetime plan. If I don't, it goes back (along with the stock)!

Thanks for suggestion about DD discussion thread.
