GVTucker,<<<But Dell has only dominated in one part of the PC era. There is nothing to indicate that Dell can dominate in another, any more than IBM, DEC, AAPL, et. al.>>>

I am a big believer in free enterprise and the individual entrepreneur. IBM, DEC, AAPL, INTC, Exxon, GE, Coca Cola, et al had their golden era with a strong visionary/manager at the top. There was Watson (and jr), Olsen, Jobs, Moore (Grove/Barrett) Rockefeller, Welsch, and Gozueta.

There is something that these people have in common, although I don't know exactly what it is, where they tend to succeed in business.

My investments are mostly with people as much as with products and their industry.

My investment in DELL is absolutely contingent upon Michael Dell running the business. I think he will succeed in anything that he puts his mind to.
