So tantalums are essential in certain applications and designs and not as easily interchangeable, or as easy as the article implies. Also tantalums have well known characteristics with regard to size and capacity and heat resistance that ceramics do not presently have accross the broad spectrum of sizes needed.

I thought that the article was "mealy mouthing" tantalums in a way that didn't make much sense. Also notice the article was written by a no name "staff writer". If soemone was emphatic and stood "tall" on the facts, then the author's name would be published.
