I don't think so. The main advantage of SSE2 vs SSE is if you want to do double precision floating calculations using a nice register file instead of the lousy x86 stack. But MP3 doesn't need double precision FP, so SSE2 vs SSE won't buy much compared to SSE vs. plain x86.
