Brandon, regarding SMPX, per company: 1. The cost for the procedure is $15,000 to $20,000 2. It is NOT covered by any insurance, private or public. 3. There're only 14 sites in the nation that can perform the procedure. These are the sites that participate in the clinical trials. It will be a while before doctors are trained with this procedure. I think the most paramount show stopper is the high cost compared to hearing aids. Since this is just an alternative to low cost hearing aids, I don't believe insurance will ever provide coverage. Without insurance coverage, I doubt too many seniors will fork over 20 grand to have this device surgically implanted inside the skull just so they don't have to wear hearing aids. Regards, Tom
