Tom, What's a little fraud conviction between friends? <G> I can't tell you how many of my buddies got into trouble with the SEC and can no longer ply the money mgt. trade. In general, it was the honest guys who didn't pay attention to everyone around them who got nailed. One buddy engaged in some pillow talk in a bit of bragging "I'm a big shot, see, I know this" temporary reconciliation with an ex-wife and she and her new boyfriend then used the inside info and my pal got zapped along with them. Highest priced hooker he ever had, and she wasn't even good looking. <g>

As far as the safe deposit boxes go, the govt. and creditors have no claim against them. However, there are some caveats here. 1. If they lock the doors, you can't get inside to reclaim your property. 2. Whoever is embezzeling at the bank probably has an extra set of keys for all the deposit boxes.

I found #2 a worry when all of my fund's assets were housed at State Street. The entire security process was designed to keep me away from the moolah, for which I had very big plans. Man, with $10 billion, I could really be cool down in Rio. <g> But, I always wondered if all the security layers, every single one of which were manned by people who could be canned in a nano-second by the CEO of State Street, would work if he decided to do a little dabbling in the vault. I also wondered if he would like a partner to do the heavy lifting. <g>
