Strange proposition... had a long phone conversation with a couple of high rollers... didn't get any trading done in last hour and have been catching up on posts. Looks like everyone is now gone. So, these guys called - I've know them for many years, nice guys - and they made me an offer which is still being hammered out. It goes something like this - A 2 - 3 week Vegas gig starting next week. They front me 30K to gamble with and cover all expenses. Originally, they offered 10 and I laughed. I suggested 50 and they laughed. Conditions: I play black jack with them for at least 3 hours a day and signal them when to bet heavy and when to slack off - they're excellent players but don't count cards. The weekends I'd have to myself. At the conclusion of the trip, I keep any money I make and return the front money. If I lose money, I return the remainder of the 30K. I'm not sure I'll do it - don't like the idea of being away from my darling wife (and Pan) for that long - maybe if it was just a week... AND tommy is due to arrive in Denver on the 8th and we had planned to meet. On the other hand, the market is still climbing and I see fewer opportunities to short so, this might be a good time to leave. Dunno.
