The misgiving about TA by most people who have never taken the time to study it is that it can not overcome fundamental analysis

i agree totally...i often recommend martin pring's "introduction to technical analysis".
i am not a big time TA guy...but we have 2 available to our research group. their charting experience totals over 70 years. i consult with them regularly.
FA is critical to selection...TA is critical to finding entry points to maximize profit.
