Pravin:

Like you I'm excited about what is in store for AMD and their investors over the next 12 months...It seems with kumar's publicly stated Intel discontent and now PC mag's positive AMD reviews, that AMD is about to receive the market kudos it deserves...Looks to me like the tide has finally turned, 12 months after the fact, and public media patience with Intel's unfullfilled promises since Oct. '99 is worn out...AMD has delivered the goods and is the goods and the public is finally taking notice...and why not with a current 70% growth rate and p/e multiple of 11 which compares all too favourably with INTC's growth rate of 17% and p/e multiple of 40...OK, OK, INTC is 50 times the size of AMD and has an enviable track record...but AMD's growth rate is 3 times that of INTC's and AMD's p/e multiple is 1/3 that of INTC's and the companys, at the moment, appear headed in opposite directions...All things equal, AMD should be trading at 6 times its current price...One can easily make the case that AMD isn't Intel and so shouldn't be trading at 6 times its current level...but given comparative diverging production performances over the past year, one can also easily make the case that AMD should at least be trading at a conservative p/e of 20 to 30 or at par with INTC...(Personally, I think one can make a strong case, given current AMD performance, future prospects and outstanding product line, that AMD should be trading at a sizeable premium to INTC...)
