The primary reason we all saw a surge at the end of trading today was because of Wind joining the S&P 400 Mid Cap.

Seems like a reasonable explanation. The earnings and conference call weren't that special, and a simple buy recommendation from H&Q is about as exciting to me as soggy toast for breakfast. Given the huge spike in volume in the last hour, and the price spike it created, somebody had to be buying a big position by the close of market. My guess: the momentum day-traders will be all over this on Monday, and we'll see some real volatility before settling down to about where we were at the start of this week.

I still see Wind at $100 by the end of this year on its own merits, but what do I know?

These opinions are not intended investment advice. You want to treat it as such, more fool you. Oh, and did I mention I have a bridge on special offer?
