re MCD, the thing that impressed me over the last few years is their entry into the small toy / trinket / hockey card, etc business. once a kid gets one windup toy out of a set, he/she wants the whole set. its a great add on sale. one of my cronies has been playing MCD pretty successfully for years, simply saying, people have got to eat and they don't want to cook. i suppose one negative for them is that labour costs are going up and its hard to find people. it seems every shop and food joint has a sign for help in toronto now...gosh...i always wanted to work in starbucks for a day <vbg>...
