| I am not sure what you are talking about. Gore had poor grades, but got into Harvard. Bush had decent grades, and got into Yale, where he was a B student. Neither, as far as I know, was on a scholarship. Generically, I have never met a "legacy" who had less than a B average personally. As far as I am concerned, there is no objection to factoring in socio- economic background, or even race, in university admissions, as long as it is has about the same relevance as extra curricular activities, and is not driven by quotas. I would prefer socio- economic background, though. |
