It is growing very rapidly. Yes, F5 does compete with CSCO half the time. But F5 also has a niche market all to themselves. F5 beats CSCO often because F5 focuses intensely on its segment of the Market, while CSCO is involved in many things.
The major disadvantage F5 has in regard to a Gorilla like CSCO, is that F5 doesn't have the Marketing and Sales Staff that CSCO has. But they have the better technology and they have been increasing marketing and sales tremendously over the past half year. It is paying off.
Some feel that F5 needs to merge with a bigger company with a stronger marketing and sales staff in order to truely whip CSCO here. Just keep in mind, however, before you sell F5 short here, that F5 has Microsoft, HWP, Dell, 3Com, MCI World COM, Yahoo, AOL, Exodus, Schwab, Juniper and all the big BB Companies as its clients. F5's technology is truely innovative and ahead of its time. |
