mr mark, we should keep mitch-c in mind for tough questions. He says that's his day job.

There is a straight-forward way to keep Real Player from sitting in the systray: With RP open, VIEW>PREFERENCES lets you disable 'start center' [after dire warnings. :)]
It works. Reminds me that not ALL software providers are sneaky all the time. I just assumed they were and didn't even look in RP, till now.

Providing a useful tip for the tip master made my day!
