...How does a government create prosperity??...

It doesn't.

The best a government can do to further prosperity creation is establish an environment where those who have the ability to create prosperity flourish. I believe the key to wealth generation is private property rights. I can think of no nation where these rights are abridged or non-existent and the population enjoys elevated living standards. As well, I'm at a loss for an example of any nation with both strong private property rights and widespread poverty.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. With elections coming, wise citizens will reflect on the basic foundations on which our society is built. Before entering the polling stations, they must ask themselves which candidates will strengthen and which will weaken the engines or our nation's greatness, and cast their ballots accordingly. Pity the nation who elects its leaders based on superficial criteria.
