Housekeeping and a comment or two........
Re. the title (name) of this thread..... Tom commented, during the retreat from February, that there were potholes on the plateau. The thread was not started at a a point in time where I suspected that the plateau had been established, and the word "plateau" was not intended to address capitalization. It was intended to address value. I never expected ^BTK to return to the highs of early March this soon.......

The title was meant to indicate that sector funding had transformed us into a different creature, one where the lower tiers would be able to maintain better capitalizations -- by hook or by waving a "we're available" flag.
Since then, money has continued to flow to the sector.
For these reasons, I believe that the "trickle" portfolio -- or a similar collection of stocks -- is a well-conceived investment vehicle.
However, I can't find the mistake that I made, the mistake that results in a "basis" that is less than 100K. I know it's only about a thousand bucks, but..... I'm going to trash the portfolio. The components are doing well, and we can follow them on occasion. The portfolio certainly had *not* been fleshed out with sufficient diversification. Risk, as it is currently configured, is high.
The portfolio ends its short life up about 13-14%, with all components (KDUS, MCDE, MDCC and NBSC) green.
I'll leave it around for the weekend, in hopes that someone knows where the mistake was made.......
