Thats what I thought I said... the fiscal conservatives are.. its a convoluted stance actually, since business is pro-immigration, religious tolerance pretty much comes from that.

Actually if you look up the policies promoted by the heritage society, you will see they even go so far as to support a "family wage" concept... this is a married individual with a family earns more than a single person for the same job because he has a family to support. OK - admittedly that will never fly, but it is indicative of their position wrt taxation - sure they want taxes cut (doesn't everybody) but while pushing their ideals. Vouchers and religious schools are another example of this.

On the family medical leave act/new parents in the workforce etc. - no, I don't have a chip on my shoulder really... I just know the reality. When a woman gets pregnant you have to manage without that staffer for a couple months... this is tough, try having 2 people out on maternity leave. Nothing you can do about it. You don't hear too much whining from the family values crowd about this form of "discriminatory legislation" in favor of pregnant women. If other workforce legislation goes then pregnant women will get tossed. I wonder how the right-wingers feel about that.
