What the family values crowd, of which I feel some allegiance to, wants is for the unduly high tax rates to be cut so that one parent can stay home to raise the children and not have to live in poverty or near it. imho, the women's movement has been one of the worst things to ever happen to our families. Most women who work in low paying jobs end up dishing most of their earnings out for clothes, daycare, food, etc. But they feel they need that income to be part of a class, be it low, middle, high income, for status. If you are true to yourself, status is for losers.knc
