Jeff ---RE Stocksmart's fund/institutional holdings data

Stocksmart is one of my favorite sites, and is always adding new features.
But its fund/institutional holdings data has not been updated since 6/1996.

Some time back, I emailed Stocksmart, and asked about this situation.
I received the following reply from Cindy Wall, on 3/27

Stock Smart had a contract for the data you refer to for $30,000 annually.
After the vendor determined that competition from Stock Smart was harming their sales,
they severed the contract, and raised the price to $60,000 per year.
They also put in some restrictions on making more than a limited amount of information available.

As their data was often in error anyway, and we considered their price
and terms unattractive, we are switching to an alternate source.

We are sorry for the delay, but will soon be implementing a far superior
service with respect to shareholder data for companies, and mutual
funds.

Thank you for your interest in our site and hope you enjoy the rest of our
service while we continue to better our product
