Advanced Micro Devices is on a roll, and the industry knows it. With the unqualified success of the Athlon and Duron desktop processors, AMD looks to broaden its Athlon-core line, with the additions of the Mustang, Palomino, and Morgan processors. These 3 distinct lines, built on a single core, will sustain AMD throughout 2001, in its battle with arch-rival Intel. Much as Intel has done successfully in the past, AMD will target these three processors to the Server, Mainstream, and Low-end markets respectively.
