I suggest you revisit some of the auto contracts hammered out the past dozen years. You will indeed see a high degree of cooperation between the UAW and Ford-GM-Chrysler, a fact echoed also by negotiators on the management side of the table.

As I have tried to explain in previous posts, unions are a far cry today from the smokestack days of the '50s.

Yes, in an ideal world all companies would pay their employees a decent wage and working conditions would be wonderful and we wouldn't need unions. But , alas, we don't live in an ideal world.
