MM's route is the safest route to take. That's what I do, and have been doing it this way for a year or more. I gave up tape drives years ago.

I have two hard drives, 10GB is my main drive, the other 20GB for back up and storing images. (both are 7200 RPM) I use Drive Image 3.02, just upgraded from 2.02.

It's safer spreading your data over 2 drives as if one dies, the other will still contain your data.

In case of theft, back up critical data to ZIP, JAZ or CDR.

Anytime I install software, I take an image of the drive, so if I don't like the software, I just restore the image off the second drive. Only takes about 15-20 minutes to restore a 4.5GB partition with Drive Image.

Uninstalling does not restore your computer to the same way it was before you install software. Sometimes installing a piece of software can screw up your computer for good.
