The odds are high that Mr. Harvey was lying. The only question is whether to refer his conduct to KEM Investor Relations for appropriate action. I may be wrong. He expressly stated that these comments were made by IR. I find it very, very hard to believe that any IR person would even comment on the buyback, let alone make private, detailed statements about target prices.
Here are Harvey's two posts again for reconsideration:
Per investor relations they haven't bought any yet and, even though they believe the price is still inexplicably low in light of glowing prospects, they won't provide buying support unless the stock drops to the 20's (and, I presume, they mean the mid 20's). Meanwhile, those without an investor's packet should e-mail a request for one to be mailed to you. Name, address, and request to capmaster@Kemet.com Message 14320443
You certainly seem upset about this. To repeat, I can't recall the name. Second, I can't testify that he was given accurate, up-to-date information. I've certainly received misinformation from various company personnel in the past. If you want to phone Kemet and inquire yourself, look up their number like I did and phone. Actually, my buyback question was peripheral to the main reason I phoned, and I threw it in because of mild curiosity, mild because I didn't expect them to be buying. But, hey, if they want to buy their stock, they've got my permission. Now, take deep breaths. Remain calm. Live long to spend the money. Message 14323287 |
