jim_p, I don't feel so bad now, although my bill may be a little higher because of a SER # of 9 and a 19 1/2 years old Trane. but at least mine shuts off somewhere during the night. I am planning to get a new one this winter, (IF IT COOLS DOWN), I'm also glad to know a new unit with a higher SER # won't shut off either, that's real encouraging, and great info to have! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH Steve
