<<The locals love the "Pay or we will put you out of business line", until someone points out how ugly and inappropriate it is. Of course, that threat is probably the only thing keeping the stock from collapsing at this point.>>
Scumbria - I believe you know full well that RMBS is entitled to royalties on RDRAM and DDRAM. Far more than enough to keep this afloat. A piece of SDRAM is probably RMBS technology as well. I am really really tired of this "money for nothing bullshit - MFNBS". RMBS is an IP company, spent years developing next generation technology when others could not see the need beyond PC100 let alone PC133.
You, Dan3, and Bilow all act as if RMBS was supposed to GIVE THIS TECHNOLOGY TO THE MEMORY INDUSTRY FOR NOTHING! Yes, in a sense it is MONEY FOR NOTHING, now that I think of it. MMs WANT RMBS MONEY FOR NOTHING. MU admitted exactly this, and it will come back to haunt them.
You know, I know, Dan3 knows, Bilow knows (but does not care because all he wants is to stir up trouble and increase posting revenue), that this MFN on you guys part is pure BS because you all 1) Hate RMBS because it is a threat to AMD 2) Hate RMBS because you do not like its business model 3) Hate RMBS because you are paid to hate it 4) Hate RMBS because you do not undertstand it
If AMD had developed said technology, acted in exactly the same manner with INTC supporting DDR, you would be arguing the other side.
In my opinion - the only think keeping MU's stock afloat is idiot thinking that MU will prevail in court.
Bad blood will ensure MU signs near to last at the worst rate.
If you guys want to argue something, I suggest that some of the following: Did RMBS make a serious mistake in singing some JEDEC document, or joining JEDEC in the first place? Was RMBS "invited" to join JEDEC so that the MM's would have earlier access to their technology - and steal it? What is RMBS worth if patent holds on DDR and RDRAM but not SDRAM? Based on discounted cash flow and memory estimates, how about a new set of number from someone? What is RMBS worth (heaven forbid the impossible happens and MU wins in court)? Legal opinions on the merits of the case, for or against, are welcome. Speculation is welcome if it is labled as speculation or is clear that it is the sole opinion of the author.
Very little else is relevant now although short term FUD could cause this stock to go either direction right now. DDR "testers" RDRAM "testers" none of this matters now (as bragging rights), although we need to see such posts to keep up with what is happening. Technical Analysis for entry and exit points is always welcome.
Will someone else sign? Who will it be, and how much pressure will be put on MU to sign and just "get it behind them". Ford pardoned Nixon just to get the damn thing behind him. MU might do the same thing, whether they think they are right or not.
I view this as an investment - no more no less. There are companies (tobacco for instance) that I would never invest in because of my beliefs.
If you guys feel that RMBS is a poor investment, FINE, just walk away, or argue your case CONSTRUCTIVELY. If you want to contribute thoughts and opinions to this thread, without all the BWAHAHAHAs (this applies to both sides) then I want to read your posts. If all one wants to say "na na poo poo, ha ha" I suggest the thread has already seen too much.
I am trying very hard to maintain some sort of Civilility on this thread (at least in my responses), and I urge you guys as well as some of the RMBS bulls, to CUT THE CRAP!
BS does nothing but inflame, but it REALLY IS NOT GOING TO INFLUENCE ANYONE AT THIS POINT! So why do you keep trying!??
Some of you may note that I have been inflamed enough to respond in kind to such BS. I have stopped, or at least I have made a sincere effort to stop. Life is too short to take my anger out on someone, when that's all they want.
If you have something constructive to say, say it, be done with it or JUST GO AWAY QUIETLY!
RMBS IS AN INVESTMENT, no more no less, RMBS is neither a dragon to be slain nor the holy grail. I suggest we keep our posts to RMBS as an investment rather than as dragon or holy grail. |
