IDC's "U.S. Home Office Forecast and Analysis: 1999-2004" report notes PC penetration and Internet use in home offices are now at record levels. IDC found that while 52 percent of U.S. households had a personal computer at the beginning of 2000, the share was significantly higher among home offices -- 78 percent.
