Rambus developed a product which is losing out in the marketplace. They are trying to make up their lost potential earnings by extracting even higher royalties from the winning product.

Well, see, now I'd have to guess that there's some confusion on your part because you said you were talking about SDRAM when I asked what you meant by "winning" product, but when you talk about "even higher royalties", you're talking about DDR (since they announced with the settlements that the SDRAM royalties were lower than RDRAM while the DDR royalties were higher than RDRAM). But, of course, then we get back to that "no DDR systems are shipping so how can you make a statement like it's 'winning'?" issue, again.
