I know what you mean. When I was growing up, we lived on top of a hill with no trees right around the house. So the house got hit one or two times a year. We had lightening rods which took the hits, but still it singed th paint.

My kids love lightening. But they've never been in a house that's been hit. I try to smile happily with them as the thunder rolls and the lightening flashes, but childhood memories are strong and I really want to hide under the nearest bed until it's over.
