Hi Bill and welcome!

I saw those charts before in my web forays, but I was disappointed that they are a year old and don't reflect any tamagotchi sales. I wonder what percentage of sales the Power Rangers were in their heyday? If the tamagotchis are a huge seller (and it definitely looks like they are), they could radically change the sales category percentages. I agree with you that tamagotchis could be the Christmas toy this year, but they could also be big sooner than that (especially since they are relatively inexpensive). I wouldn't discount GigaPets yet, though. If they have better animations and are "cuter" to kids, they could give tamagotchis serious competition. But then they still aren't available, and Bandai has done much better at marketing so far.

I would love to know how tamagotchis are selling in Europe and China (if they are available in those areas yet) and also what kind of interest there is in them in those areas. I would also love to be able to collect the tamagotchis in the other languages. That could be an interesting marketing idea for Bandai or a reseller.

Kirk
