Scumbria,

Richard has used his web site to post SI messages from Dan. He obviously is not interested in privacy, in any sense.

I doubt you you're qualified to say that he's "not interested in privacy, in any sense." I'll bet that there are quite a few things he's private about. Plus, the SI TOU say that you're not supposed to reveal personal information about people.

If he was short, I have little doubt you would be doing every thing you could to get him off the thread.

He wouldn't have to be a Short, just a bear! <G>

My biggest problem is with people who won't provide realistic motivations. It's simply a matter of trust. Generally, I understand the motivations of the Longs (financial). But as I've said before, I don't understand the mentality of the Shorts at all, and I don't understand why someone who's a Bear would waste so much time here. I certainly don't waste my time on the threads of the numerous companies for which I have little or no expectations of success. Why bother? For me to do bother, I'd have to be getting something out of it. So I am suspicious of most of the things you guys post for that reason. What's your real motivation for wasting so much time here? Without knowing that, how can I trust the materials and statements you (the royal "you") post?

That said, I don't like unwarranted pumping, either. And I abhor the incivility that's crept into this thread (and I refuse to get caught up in the infantility of the "he said/she said" blame game -- all sides are to blame). I would like to see everyone be clearer when they're posting an opinion versus a "fact" (whatever that may mean), admit when they make a mistake, and repond politely when someone asks for a clarification of something you said. I freely admit that I'm no poster boy for these activities, having succumbed to my baser instincts on occasion, but this thread would improve a lot if we all tried harder.

In the end, wouldn't you like everyone to be more respectful of your opinions?

Dave
