MEDIA RELEASE

Service Rig Is Now On Location Of Bedsole #1 Well…

Commonwealth Energy Corp. ("Commonwealth" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that a Service Rig is now on the site of the Bedsole Unit and will begin running the 2.5-inch tubing in the Bedsole #1 well today.

In reference to the Company's Media Releases of August 2 and July 31, 2000, 7,700 Barrels of FRAC fluid was pumped into the Bossier Formation of the Bedsole #1 well in the FRAC performed on July 27, 2000. Prior to being shut in to await a Service Rig to run the tubing, the Bedsole #1 well unloaded 2,400 Barrels of an estimated 3,500 Barrels of excess FRAC fluid on its own up the 14,000 foot deep, 7-inch wellbore. By running the 2.5-inch tubing, the well should unload the remaining excess FRAC fluid at a much quicker rate. When this is completed, the flow test will begin immediately and the results will then be announced.
