Ok, here is the reason on boxers:

Shares of the world's No. 1 semiconductor manufacturer slammed lower earlier in the
session on news that US Bancorp/Piper Jaffray analyst Ashok Kumar cut Intel's rating, citing
expectations for weaker sales for Intel.

Kumar also spoke bearishly of other computer makers like Dell Computer (NasdaqNM:DELL - news) and Gateway Inc.
(NYSE:GTW - news)

Intel shares -- the most actively traded on the tech-heavy Nasdaq -- plumbed the day's lows, falling $4-15/16 to $69. Dell was
off $2-5/16 at $40-3/4. On the New York stock exchange, Gateway plunged $3.58, or more than 5 percent, to $65.10.

Now, if only a few more guys would come out and say similar things. This is your cue, Dan Niles. -g-
