TELOS-OK Wins Prestigious Security Award

LAWTON, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 5, 2000--TELOS-OK(TM) announced that it is a recipient of the Department of Defense's James S. Cogswell award for outstanding participation in the National Industrial Security Program for the year 2000.

Only 50 of the nearly 11,600 eligible companies were selected to receive the award this year.

"TELOS-OK is honored to receive this award for the second time in the past three years. This is a rare accomplishment, and a testament to our employees' commitment to excellent security practices," said Gary Meek, project manager TELOS-OK. "It's truly an honor to have the Department of Defense recognize our business practices and dedication to providing excellent client support," added Meek.

The Cogswell award, administered by the Defense Security Service, was established in 1966. It is named in honor of Colonel James S. Cogswell, the first Chief of the Unified Office of Industrial Security. The Cogswell award is the most prestigious in the industrial security field.

To receive this award, a company must sustain outstanding achievement in all aspects of security management and implementation. Award winners have implemented rational, cost effective and threat appropriate security measures, as well as a positive security program and have received high marks on Defense Security Service annual reviews.

TELOS-OK employs 275 people who work in partnership with the Communications/Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC), Fire Support Software Engineering (FSSE) at Fort Sill. TELOS-OK and its subcontractors, Advanced Systems Technology and Eagle Systems and Services, provide software development and related services for some of the mission critical field artillery weapon systems currently used by the U.S. Army.

TELOS-OK,has provided support to the field artillery community through contracts at Ft. Sill since 1976.
