I always suspected the reason for the Antec-Nortel deal was that ATT was mostly a Lucent customer. It is interesting that Nortel's circuit switch business continues to grow in the mid-teens while Lucent circuit switch business is basically flat. Nortel has been more creative in integrating its circuit switch business with other new and growing technologies. Cornerstone is one and their Succession Platform is another. The article does not mention that Nortel retains its Cornerstone distribution rights in Canada and Europe where it is not having much success.
