Hello Jeff,
Back home again, I am, I am... <g>
This Titan thing looks very interesting. On a whim I took a quick gander over at the Yahoo! thread, and from my perspective, Titan has a very, very weak case. In fact the Titan board, prior to the announcement of the lawsuit, had been one of the tamer threads over on Yahoo!. If I were one of the defendants, I'd accept service in California because I think there's a very strong case to be made here for a counter suit using California's anti-SLAPP provisions. This lawsuit may prove to be very interesting because (again, in my opinion) Titan (and their quoted executives) is trampling all over the defendants' rights to free speech and unfettered DD. We'll have to wait and see. I'd also counter sue for invasion of privacy should Titan or their legal representatives attempt to prove their allegations of shorting. Shorting is not illegal nor immoral nor unethical, and I'm afraid that Titan officials will learn these facts the hard way. My own suspicions are that an open period has come and gone for Titan insiders, and perhaps some stock options have expired relatively worthless, but that's just a WAG on my part as to the reason(s) behind the obvious emotional statements I read in the news clipping stories. Whatever happens will happen, and we shall see I guess...
