For whatever my DD talent is, I reviewed the several plays in this sector and chose VIAN: I like the sudden drop, they have more cash (as you indicate)than the others. In summary the chaos type drop and volume 'usually' is a bargain for a six month hold, selling 50% and keeping remainder very long. These opportunities don't come around everyday. Sometimes I trade the 1/2 the position on a rapid run-up, but prefer holding. Finding the bottoms can be tricky, if 7 1/2 holds I would not be surprised to see 20s by January 2000. Example: I still have 50% of my ALSI from the drop to $11 last year, gap from $35 now closed, and was a good trading stock inbetween. Not well followed, which means I miss the momentum excesses, but this approach combined with a good number of positions, keeps my nerves balanced.
