The attitudes and commitment to excellence is lacking in many of our public systems. What causes it? Probably many things but the NEA is probably a big part. Also, failure to skill test teachers is another. Another would be to put more of the available money in the classroom. I read that less than 50% of educational dollars go into the classroom in the public school system. The other dollars go for administration, etc.. In the private school system nearly 90% of the available dollars go into the classroom. Teacher salaries, training materials, etc.. And, unless you can show me otherwise we are beholden to conform to external government, Department of Education, and even State influence. The local school board has to jump through certain conformity hoops to get much of their revenue. I don't know the answers but I do believe, without doubt, there is a better way. Also, do you believe liberality and the democrats (liberals) influence to not have any personal responsibility for our actions has successfully created an underclass, rotten value system, non productive group of people. And, you would vote for that. Ugh!
