Jay or Paul, I have isolated a problem causing QCharts to freeze.
Culprit is a chart layout file (*.qcl).
Here is what happens: - I have a synchronized chart window. In this window, many charts of different tickers are annotaded and have line studies. (I see them under 'Tools --> Edit lines...'). Obviously, one ticker is at the top of the list, important for the following.)
- I saved the layout.qcl
- Closing V3, opening V4 (in another directory, also cause of a problem for later).
- In the new session, blank workspace, I open a blank chart.
Start of the problems:
- If I select a symbol, and this symbol is the first one of the lines studies; when I load my layout, my chart preferences, line studies, notes load fine for this symbol,QCharts is happy and works fine.
- When I choose another symbol: the studies load in the chart pane "after a certain amount of time" (Bollinger Bands, Moving averages, lines, notes), the price bars load "a certain amount of time" later. Meanwhile, the CPU usage jumps to 100% and all my available memory is eaten up.
- After this, when I choose a symbol which is not present in the list of the studies, I can work further. When that symbol is present in the list, I have to wait "a certain amount of time again". These are minutes.
- The error not to do is to save the workspace under V4 and try to re-open it in V3, coz the same problems will then happen in V3.
Question is: is there any way to import/export the line studies and notes? Workspaces without multiple symbols studies in the chart window can be read without any problem in the different versions. |
