This was in the Post -- I found it through Drudge. I'm not sure if it is a statement of policy for the world leaders' conference now in progress, or a speech given to open the conference. In any event, it is packed full of "I wonder what that means" sorts of comments.

I'm a skeptic down to the core, and things like this raise my hackles, because things that sound like lofty, worthy goals from socialist leaders always seem to have chains and repression as their basis.

For example, ...we are determined to use all the tools at our disposal, from effective community policing to the latest DNA technology, to tackle crime and its causes.

Does this mean better cooperation between different police agencies, and use of crime records to aprehend criminals? Or, as I suspect, does it mean that DNA profiles will be recorded on all people and vast personal databanks maintained for each 'citizen of the world?' What, I wonder, would be involved in "effective community policing?"

Again, I'm a skeptic, and maybe a bit paranoid. Somehow, though, the tone and thrust of this sounds like it could have been voiced by Lennin himself. If you have a few monents, take a look, and post your impressions.
