Advice on using futures data? (Reposted from the Daytrading Fundamentals thread.)

I just added CME to my RealTick account (it's cheap now - just $10/month).

Now, I know that many traders use S&P 500 futures data to help them make trading decisions - but how?

I assume I am looking for certain divergences between the futures and the index. What am I looking for? Any suggestions for chart setups? I assume that there is a better way than side-by-side charts? Any specific setups for RealTick III appreciated. (I will cross-post this on the RealTick III thread as well.)

What time frames are most useful?

Any use at all for the other CME contracts? (Nasdaq 100, E-Mini, E-Mini Nasdaq 100, E-Mini Nasdaq, S&P Evening)

I've got a hammer - Please help me find some nails to hit, LOL!
